The Miami Heat are in a very tricky place. They swung for the fences and missed on Giannis.

The Miami Heat find themselves in a very sticky situation. On the backend of a Giannis Antetokounmpo extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, they’ve been left at the podium by the guy that looked to be their prized free agent.

No fear though, there were guys left out there to be had. We all have lived through the James Harden saga up until this point, while there have been other names attached to Miami as well.

Jrue Holiday ended up in Milwaukee as well, so while you remove him from the list, there is still Victor Oladipo. There are also a few lesser guys out there as well on the last year of their current deal with their current club.

The Miami Heat may have boxed themselves in. Can they land another impact guy?

Kyle Lowry is playing out a one-year pact with the Raptors, but looking like their best player at the moment, he won’t be moved. Lonzo Ball also failed to land a contract extension with the New Orleans Pelicans, but with Klutch Sports being his management team, that may never have a chance at getting off the ground either.

Again, there are a few options out there but can Miami make it happen? More specifically, did the Miami Heat cost themselves an opportunity to land an impact guy like Harden, Oladipo, or anyone else by going all in on Giannis Antetokounmpo?

Afraid to risk the flexibility it would take to sign him and continue to put a competitive team around him, you would assume, the Miami Heat failed to make a move for another impact guy in the offseason. The trade deadline isn’t here yet or hasn’t passed, but with the way that all of the potential targets have been playing, their price tags have also gone up expeditiously.

We asked if Pat Riley proceeded to handcuff himself by waiting on Giannis and it appears he just might have. However, if there is a guy that I believe can make something happen from nothing or given the Miami Heat’s situation, it’s Pat Riley.

I guess, then, the answer is “maybe”. We will just have to keep following along to see.
