If the Miami Heat could land Kyrie Irving from Brooklyn, would you want them to?
The Miami Heat are in a rather unique position. Being very close to the same team that they were last season, a team good enough to make a run to the NBA Finals and though replacing guys like Jae Crowder with different guys who fills in for his production, they are at a crossroads of whether to make a move for a guy now or not.
For some background, most will tell you that Miami was ahead of schedule last season and that no one thought that they would compete the way that they did. With that in mind though, the schedule probably included landing Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee, based on all we have heard.
He signed an extension to remain there, as we all know, so that won’t happen. Has that put the Miami Heat and more importantly, Pat Riley, in a tough spot? Did missing out on Giannis handcuff him?
Who knows, but the Miami Heat still have to go on and compete. That has led us here.
With their situation and with the recent story unfolding that centers around Brooklyn Nets enigmatic point guard, Kyrie Irving, it begs of a few questions. The first one is this.
Would Brooklyn ever consider trading Irving at this point? Secondly, should the Miami Heat be interested if they do?
Max Marshall, also of All U Can Heat, and myself will take a crack at it all. Here goes nothing.
