The Miami Heat need help defensively. Could this be an option?

The Miami Heat can finally breathe! Well, sort of, as we can all stop holding our breathe over James Harden.

Now that the trade rumors are finally over with, with Harden going to the Brooklyn Nets, it is time for P.J. Tucker to get traded as well. Tucker has not been happy for the past two years due to him wanting a new contract.

In all honestly, he deserves it. If nothing else, I would say for what he has done for Houston over the last season or so, being a 6’5″ dude playing center.

You know how hard it is being at Tucker’s size but being tasked to guard the biggest guys on the court, game after game and especially when the Houston Rockets ran a switch everything scheme where Tucker would go from guarding centers to switching on to guards. Yeah, he probably deservers a little pay raise.

Miami needs to make a move. I have been saying this for awhile now.

Hot. Is Victor Oladipo still in the cards?. light

The Miami Heat could get better defensively and there is a specialist out there to be had.

The move to make right now is P.J tucker. Last year, Miami was better when Jae Crowder was in the starting lineup.

Now, Miami has Kelly Olynyk in the four spot and personally, I do not want him starting. Miami’s defense cant have three negatives in the starting lineup, plus Olynyk gets killed on the glass.

Tucker is a better version of Crowder in every way. Tucker is a better defender, better shooter, and rebounder. Tucker would be such an upgrade over Olynyk that just thinking about it gets me excited.

Tucker can switch off on guards and box out. It’s crazy that I am writing that about an NBA player but here I am.

Tucker, on offense, can just sit in the corner and let it fly. Tucker might be the best corner three point shooter in the league, hitting 38.5 percent last year from the corner.

Both sides of the floor show Tucker fitting in well with Miami. The thing I like about Tucker is that he can play in any system and especially on defense, where Miami plays different scheme’s at times.

From drop schemes to switching everything though, Tucker can do either. Tucker just looks like a Miami Heat player and with his play style, he fits the culture.

He is a hard nosed player who has had to itch and claw to get to the league and stay. Sounds like a Miami Heat kind of guy, right?

This trade will be easy to make unless they want to get Victor Oladipo involved as well, which I would love for Miami to be able to do. But the trade I would offer is Meyers Leonard, who is a cap filler on this team, Kendrick Nunn, and  a second round pick.

Rumor has it that Houston’s owner, Tilman Fertitta, wants to cut payroll. With Leonard having a team option, Houston can create cap space with his contract.

Next. Would you want Kyrie Irving if Brooklyn sours on him?. dark

Nunn needs a new start and Houston doesn’t have a back up point guard, so technically, Nunn fills a role. Miami please get this deal done, as it could make a world of difference for this team.
