The Miami Heat got a much needed victory on Monday night against a Pistons team that had obliterated them just a night or so before. While the biggest change in the two games was the Miami Heat’s effort and intensity, they had a few guys step up in big ways as well to help them get it done.

Bam Adebayo was his usual special self. Goran Dragic did what he does, which is to make tough shot after tough shot for his Miami Heat team.

Maurice Harkless was one of the biggest revelations on Monday. It was him and him alone that allowed the Miami Heat to slow down the guy that had been killing them across a game and a half in Jerami Grant.

The Miami Heat got a big and much needed night from Kendrick Nunn On Monday.

Although what Harkless did cannot be overstated, he wasn’t the best guy on the floor the Miami Heat down the stretch. The best guy for the Heat down the stretch Monday was a guy that we haven’t seen a ton from since the standard part of last season ended, Bubble play not included.

That guy would be, none other than, Kendrick Nunn. Finishing with 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block, Nunn had his best game in almost a calendar year for the Heat on Monday.

Regardless of the way you view it, he was the big winner. Let us quickly explain.

Kendrick Nunn is looking the likeliest young Heat guy to be moved if a deal is made. However, performances like Monday night could quickly make the Heat reconsider if he has truly broken his slump.

If they are still set on moving him, then showings like Monday night should not only make the process easier, but should allow them to maximize any potential return. It sounds like a lot of Miami Heat here, but here’s how K.Nunn is the winner.

If he stays in Miami, it’s because they deem him valuable, which means he will be a meaningful part of the rotation again. If they move him, he’ll likely have a key role for whatever team he ends up with.

Next. 3 guys that should be trade targets for them. dark

Either way, Nunn gets the opportunity to ball, potentially ball out, and then cash in on it all with a new deal. That’s why, no matter which way you view it, Kendrick Nunn was the big winner on Monday night.
