Miami Heat Reasons To Keep Kendrick Nunn Around: Shot-Making & Defensive Intensity

The Miami Heat are a team that has had one of the same major issues for the last few years. There are often these stretches of play where they can’t seem to find the hoop.

While they’ll be doing all the right right things, such as attacking, moving the ball, and creating for their teammates, the shots just won’t fall at times. Then there are guys like Kendrick Nunn.

When he’s right, as he appears to be now, he doesn’t need the rest of the team to be in a rhythm nor for someone else to create him a shot. When he’s attacking and on his game, he is the shot creator.

Also. KZ Okpala and Maurice Harkless should be rotated in more. light

He is his own rhythm. He’s a shot maker.

He’s one of those guys that often have you saying “no, no, no, no, no, yessssssss”. What that means is that you cringe at some of his shots… until they go down.

That’ a reason why they should keep him around though. When your offense as a whole is struggling, you need guys who can step outside of that and make a play for himself or his team.

That’s what Kendrick Nunn can do. That isn’t the only reason to keep him around though.

His defensive intensity is a world better than it was last season. This is the best way to describe it.

Last season, there were a ton of times where you wondered if he was asleep or not. Rotations would happen, passes would go by, or players would relocate and Nunn wouldn’t move, turn his head, or anything.

Then, you have this season. He seems like a different guy.

Whether it be getting in on the scrums, diving through passes, or simply fighting harder on that side than he has before, you can see a different level of defensive intensity from the guy. I love it and along with his ability to simply knock down shots, his increased level of defensive effort is a welcomed sight and a reason to continue to keep him around as well.
