The Miami Heat are searching. They are searching for anything that will help to give them a spark right now.

Dropping eight of their last 10 contests, they look to get back on the horse Saturday against Sacramento, but can they get it done? Who knows, but they should also be searching for some more help.

Well, they won’t have to search long, as Jimmy Butler will likely make his long-awaited return to the floor for his Heat team. After his bout with Covid, the Miami Heat are as ready as ever for him to get back.

Outside of that though, the guys that haven’t been there for the last few games, what else can the Miami Heat do to get better? Well, they can start by taking better advantage of a resource they have immediately available to them.

That resource would be Precious Achiuwa.

Precious Achiuwa should see at least 25 minutes a night for the Miami Heat.

The Miami Heat drafted Achiuwa 20th overall in this past NBA Draft. To be quite frank, based on what we had seen prior to the draft and definitely since, the Miami Heat got a steal of a pick.

Here’s the thing though, it’ll be hard to prove that or show that if you don’t play him more. Furthermore, for a team that struggles to defend, get easy baskets, and of course, rebound the basketball, why wouldn’t you want a guy like him in?

He is a ball of energy, so there is your defense. He may not be as nuanced yet, but trial by fire is as good a teacher as any.

Speaking of that energy again, he also has supreme athleticism to go with that. That could make for, at least, a few more rim runs and lob plays for easy baskets.

Lastly, and just here for this example as he does a ton more, he is a rebounding machine. In just 16.2 minutes per game, he’s averaging five rebounds, with which nearly two are on the offensive side.

That’s darn good. Imagine what he could do with just 10 more minutes per night?

On top of raising his scoring, by almost double I would say, he could at least grab 3 more rebounds.  With the ratio of the way that it has played out with his numbers so far, that would mean one more offensive rebound per game and two more on the defensive glass.

Tell me that the Miami Heat couldn’t use that? We know they could and that’s why Precious Achiuwa could use more minutes.

This is why we need, at least, 25 Precious Achiuwa minutes per night. He’s one of the only things working and working hard right now.
