The Miami Heat got a win over the New York Knicks on Sunday and it was, indeed, what we like to call a good team win. The whole team had a major hand in it, while a lot of the guys seemingly made huge contributions at one point or another.

When we say everyone though, we do mean everyone. Of course, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo had their hands all over the game.

The rest of the guys, like Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Herro, did what they do as well. Another guy that had a major impact, as he has across quite a few of the Heat’s last couple of games or so, was Kendrick Nunn.

Thought to be a Miami Heat trade asset, Kendrick Nunn is putting his value on full display again.

Kendrick Nunn was again big for the Heat on Sunday. He, sort of, played the Goran Dragic role a bit.

It wasn’t by deployment though, as much as impact. When talking impact, he had a bit of it with his play.

When the Miami Heat needed a big shot from their second unit or when time was winding down on them, be that the shot clock or whatever, Kendrick Nunn was there to hit a big shot. That also came in the form of simply needing someone to get one when no one else could at the time.

Once thought to be the centerpiece of any Miami Heat trade package, it’s time we had that discussion. At this juncture and with the way that he’s playing again, the Miami Heat’s top Kendrick Nunn related priority should be maximizing his production, not maximizing his trade value or moving him.

His is of more value to this team where he currently is and doing what he’s currently doing. What’s that you might ask?

Here’s something from Miami Heat insider, Greg Sylvander, that tells the tale. See for yourself.

The Miami Heat have the guy back that opened a ton of eyes last year. You know, the guy that finished near the top of the Rookie Of The Year standings, right up there with Zion Williamson and Ja Morant?

Yea, that dude. That’s why that should be their main objective.

Next. 3 really good reasons to keep Kendrick Nunn around. dark

That would, again, be maximizing whatever they can possibly get from him on a night to night basis and not just what they could possibly get for him once on the trade market.
