Miami Heat need a big body… you know… like Andre Drummond?

The Miami Heat got embarrassed Monday night against the short handed Los Angeles Clippers. I could go on and on about Monday night’s disaster of a loss or how disappointing this season has gone for Miami, but Monday night specifically, I saw enough of Ivica Zubac looking like prime Shaq.

Especially with Meyers Leonard being out for the season with a bad shoulder and Chris Silva being out with a hip, this team doesn’t have a backup big and Monday night it showed with Zubac. How about a week ago when Miami went against the Washington Wizards and Alex Len was giving Miami a hard time?

I’ve seen enough of backup centers killing Miami by just being big. That’s all.

Most aren’t special, they’re just large human beings. But there may be answer out there for Miami and he currently resides in Cleveland.

Should the Miami Heat pursue soon-to-be cast away big man, Andre Drummond?

Andre Drummond isn’t a perfect fit for Miami, as there are a lot questions about his fit with Bam Adebayo. One of the big questions is whether he would clog up the driving and operating lanes for both Bam and Jimmy Butler.

Both are more then fair questions, plus it would inevitably take minutes from rookie, Precious Achiuwa. I want Achiuwa to get minutes, as he needs them and has begun to show some good stuff but I’m sorry, Miami needs to win games.

Having said that, Achiuwa would still be given minutes and that is especially with not having a consistent four man on the roster. Drummond is big, athletic, a really good rebounder, and has quick hands for his size.

Drummond fills a need that Miami desperately needs in size, you know, that thing you cant teach size. Personally, I think Drummond has gotten a bad rap as that Detroit Pistons teams he used to be on were always just “okay” and since he has gotten traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, that team has been a mess.

Before Cleveland decided to shut him down though, Drummond was having a solid year. Does he fit great with this Miami team?

No, probably not. However, Miami needs help when it comes to dealing with big centers and Drummond could come in right now to help out this team.

If Miami were to sign Drummond, then the paint would be clogged, but maybe Adebayo would then be force to take his open looks outside the paint. He has shown to be able to extend his range to the perimeter and less paint space could force such a thing.

If Drummond were to come off of the bench for the Heat, that would be perfect but if he were to be bought out, then he would have plenty of suitor’s to pick from where he could start. I’m just saying, in a perfect world, that would be great.

I do not think Miami will sign him, as there are better fits for him out there where there is likely a starting situation, like the Brooklyn Nets or the Boston Celtics. Miami needs good players and say what you want about Drummond, but I know one thing and that one thing is that he doesn’t suck.

Basically, what I’m saying is if Drummond has interest in coming to Miami, it is something that should be talked about. Yes, the fit is not perfect by any means, but Miami needs to look at every situation to turn try and turn this thing around, quickly.
