Miami Heat: Let’s be clear, Erik Spoelstra or Pat Riley aren’t going anywhere

The Miami Heat are in a bad place right now, absolutely. There is no way to deny that.

If there is a way to lose a game, they will do it. Even if that way seems almost impossible or wacky, they’ll find a way to get it done right now.

They found a way to lose to the LA Clippers again, without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. They found a way to lose to Golden State, after being up by 15 with around six minutes to go in the game.

They have just consistently found ways to break our collective hearts and spirits this season. All that can be said to describe it is “sad”… just “sadness”.

Here’s the thing though. In all of that, we as fans want someone to blame.

The easiest targets here are Coach Erik Spoelstra and Team President and decision maker, Pat Riley. Here’s the thing though and while you could rightfully give them some of it, all of it isn’t on them.

Even deeper than that though, neither of them are going anywhere. So, yea, there’s that.

With the Miami Heat struggling, many are heavily overreacting, questioning Spo and Pat Riley’s places.

Many Miami Heat fans are deep in their feelings right now. Again, understandably, as I tend to fall in that same boat.

We cannot be prisoners of the moment though. It was this same combination that help lead the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals last season.

It has been this same combination that have consistently overachieved with under talented rosters and continued to put a somewhat decent product on the floor, when we should have had no business competing like we were.

You all saw the rosters! You all know the names!

We were able to have the success we had then, now, and moving forward, mainly, because of what those two guys are able to do. So, while it’s frustrating, I still know what I’m working with here.

Don’t be irrational. Don’t be illogical.

Passion is good, but sometimes you have to use “common sense”. For every year like this, there two years where they show you why they are so revered and respected.

These, my friends, are the reasons why Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra aren’t going anywhere. So, keep being used to that.
