What do the Miami Heat really need?: P.J. Tucker

What Miami is missing is more size along the wings, someone who can fill in that Jae Crowder role from last year. Outside of Jimmy, Miami really doesn’t have a lot of options for bigger wings that can switch on defense.

With that being said, here are three options that Pat Riley could go after to help solidify the wing position!

P.J. Tucker – 4.5 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 1.4 APG

I know the numbers look really bad for P.J. Tucker and they definitely are that bad. However, we’re talking about a guy who for his career averages only 7.2 points per game.

Also. Not Only Shouldn’t They Trade Kendrick Nunn, They Should Lock Him Up. light

Also, he’s playing for a team that has absolutely cratered. There is that.

There seems to be two schools of thought on P.J. Tucker. The first is that his situation is so bad that it’s effecting his play and Tucker just needs to get out of Houston.

The second is that P.J. is washed and we are just seeing his decline as a player in real time before our very eyes. I tend to fall in with camp one.

We’ve seen this happen with older veterans before. They end up on a bad team, one way or another and once they get on a contender, it rejuvenates their next couple of seasons.

P.J. is a candidate for that and why not with the Miami Heat?
