The Miami Heat came out on Thursday night shining and rejuvenated. While both terms could be reflective of what one would hope to be a fresh and invigorated bunch coming off the All-Star break, that only describes the “rejuvenated” part of the equation.

The “shining” part is in relation to the latest additions to the Heat’s collective wardrobe closet. That would be their version of the NBA’s newest little jerseys, the “Earned Edition”, tributes to all the teams that made the Bubble playoffs last season.

Just like the name of the jerseys implied though about the Miami Heat, they were comfortable earning it on Thursday, as they are all the time and had to in order to knock off Orlando. It’s a pretty common fact at this point as well, when the Magic and the Heat face-off, expect a slug and sludge-fest of a contest.

The Miami Heat earned a win against Orlando in their ‘Earned Edition’ jerseys Thursday, the hard way.

Thursday night was no different but didn’t disappoint. Orlando came out and jumped on top of Miami, getting out to a small lead.

The Heat eventually climbed back in it with their shooting. Florida native, Dwayne Bacon from just outside of Orlando and now plays for the Magic, decided that Thursday would be his time to shine though.

Surely being watched by all of his closest family and friends from his home state, you could tell. He had himself a game and almost led the Magic to insurmountable and momentum shifting runs by his lonesome throughout the second half.

They wouldn’t be enough though, as the Miami Heat did what they do. Behind Jimmy Butler‘s toughness and big shot making from guys like Kelly Olynyk, Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, and Goran Dragic, the Miami Heat would cruise to victory in the end.

Again, as the privilege of having an Earned Edition jersey implies, they didn’t mind working for it. That’s just what they did on Thursday and it was good to see them get going on the good foot again after the break.
