The Miami Heat came into Tuesday night’s game on a three-game losing streak after dropping a two game series to Indiana in their immediate two games prior, while a defeat at the hands of the Grizzlies preceded those two.

Facing off against one of the best teams in the league, record wise, in the Phoenix Suns, they would have a chance to get the stain of losing the past three off of them but it wouldn’t be easy. To get right to the point, it would be downright impossible.

The results yielded that fact as well, as the Miami Heat were taken to the woodshed, as they say. It was practically over before it even started, by the second quarter to be completely honest.

Either way, it wasn’t the fact of them losing as much as why or how they lost. They went out sad and that is all based on the way they approached it.

The Miami Heat were blasted Tuesday and some of their guys just appeared checked out the entire time.

Specifically, you look at a few of the players that have heard their names included in the rumors, Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, and Kelly Olynyk all played badly. Missing shots is one thing, but when your body language, effort, and reactions aren’t there or are negative as well, that tells the whole story.

This is no excuse, as they are professionals and should always give a better effort, at least, than they gave on Tuesday but it does appear as if something was mentally getting to them. Kendrick Nunn wasn’t as impacted, for some reason.

Either Kendrick Nunn really does have nerves of steel or there is something else to it. He played well in the second half, actually pushing the Heat back to within 10 or so of the Suns.

It turned out to be unfruitful for Miami though, as they still wound up losing the game by 10. Nunn would finish with 25 points, three rebounds, and one assist on 10-19 from the floor and 5-9 from deep.

The deadline is days away and nerves are uneasy. Something will change by the end of the day on that day though, as the Miami Heat’s current guys will be able to have clear minds about being there until the end of the year or they’ll be somewhere else, with new guys filling up their lockers.
