A great Miami Heat day gets even better with LaMarcus Aldridge?
The Miami Heat are clear winners of the NBA’s Trade Deadline. While you may not make them the out and out winners alone, there is no team that will have had a bigger advancement than they did on Thursday.
With Nemanja Bjelica and Victor Oladipo in tow already, the word is that they are the official homes of another big time guy on the move. Here is the news, per Miami Heat insider, Greg Sylvander.
The Miami Heat won big on the NBA’s trade and buyout market.
The Miami Heat couldn’t have gotten better news today than the three pieces it seems they have. Aldridge was long suspected of heading to Miami though, as Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer had reported recently as well.
"The Heat are also considered by front-office executives as one of the favorites to land LaMarcus Aldridge if the Spurs buy out the veteran big. The Trail Blazers are also a threat to acquire Aldridge, sources say. Both Lowry and Aldridge would bolster the championship odds of a Miami team finally finding its groove. Since February 18, the Heat have won 11 of 15 games and have the NBA’s third-best defensive rating. But Miami has a sputtering offense, ranking 22nd over that same stretch and 25th for the full season."
Well, it seems as if though those executives were on to something. The Miami Heat have managed to solve most of their most obvious problems in one day.
They needed help rebounding, where both Aldridge and Bjelica should help there. They needed help scoring the ball in general, be that from deep, in close, or anywhere on the floor.
All three of the guys they’ve acquired at this point can help them there. They also could have stood to add some lead guard help as well or at least someone who could run a team and they did that as well.
Victor Oladipo can score, knock down shots, and be your lead ball handler. Basically, the Miami Heat won the day and look to do a whole lot more of it on the court with these additions.
