The Miami Heat are in it to win it! After seeing the moves they were able to pull off by Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline, it should be clear to anyone else who’s observing as well.

With Victor Oladipo and Nemanja Bjelica in tow as the newest additions to the Miami Heat and perhaps with LaMarcus Aldridge on his way, the Miami Heat have once again shown everyone that they are trying to win it all. That’s all Pat Riley though and the reason for today’s chat.

The Miami Heat are always trying to win and that’s a Pat Riley thing.

In a world of analytics and moneyball, where you stack up as many assets and resources as you can for that one big payoff or group payoff, such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and their treasure chest of draft picks, winning is almost an afterthought. That is, unless you don’t play it that way.

That’s where a guy like Pat Riley comes into the fold. Some people will look at his approach and call that old school.

If you are being honest about what you are looking at though, then it can only be referred to as a try hard. Pat Riley is always trying to win.

Plain and simple. He may not always have the pieces to actually do so or get the job fully accomplished, but one thing you cannot say about The Godfather is that he has ever cashed it in.

In an era of metrics, where people are alright with losing and big at times, Pat Riley is a breath of fresh air. Ironic right?

A guy that’s one of the OG’s, elder statesman, and probably a Mt. Rushmore basketball figure, is… a breath of fresh air. Think about that?
