If you’ve watched the Miami Heat in the last few seasons, you can set your watch by what’s going to happen. It’s started and ended with the same two guys.

Generally Frees Up Jimmy And Bam

The Miami Heat have been a team that has predominantly run their stuff through Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler over the last two seasons or so. You have the occasional play created by Goran Dragic and/or Tyler Herro, but for the most part, it’s all Bam and Jimmy in charge of the task of jumpstarting things on the offensive end.

Well, with Oladipo in tow, the other two guys simply have more freedom to impact the game in other ways. What ways, might one ask?

Allows Them To Be More Aggressive

When someone else is tasked with making the play or simply, able to make the play, then that would allow one of the other main guys to actually be the one finishing it. Whereas Jimmy Butler has usually been the guy in the closing moments for the Miami Heat, you also wanted him to be the guy that took the shot.

That’s because he was the guy that you trusted most to get an efficient look or to create something good for the team. With Oladipo able to be the iniator now, that triples the options.

Jimmy is a good playmaker, but not quite as good as Oladipo, as he’s more comfortable in that role and has done it longer. His higher level of play there should only make those around him that much better and that definitely includes Bam.

Oladipo gives himself as an option for the shot, a freed up Jimmy, and a more in tune Bam because of how Dipo can get him the ball in scoring positions. It simply allows everyone else to be more aggressive, because they can focus on doing the parts that they do well, as opposed to what they need to do to, simply, give there team a chance.
