The Miami Heat were active at the NBA’s Trade Deadline, acquiring Victor Oladipo, Trevor Ariza, and Nemanja Bjelica to bolster their forces for a potential run down the stretch and into the NBA’s postseason. With the newly acquired pieces in tow, along with a renewed confidence shown by Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro, the Miami Heat were starting to look as though they were gelling.
On a bit of a winning streak, until they faced the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, the Miami Heat would be blasted in the paint by Jonas Valanciunas and then taken advantage of at all three levels by Dillon Brooks in the third period.
That was a tough way to let it slip away. With that though, it also stood to solidify the fact that the Miami Heat could stand to add another guy.
With them missing out on LaMarcus Aldridge and doing the same, or passing up, on DeMarcus Cousins, the Miami Heat could have certainly stood to add another big guy. That’s also just what they did.
Bringing in Dewayne Dedmon, who split last season between Sacramento and Atlanta, the Miami Heat get a guy who should fit what they do. Not to go far into that right now though, there is more there.
Dedmon isn’t what you would consider a perfect fit, by any means, however he should be able to fit right in. Here are three reasons why that’s the case.
