With the Miami Heat and Victor Oladipo, no news… might just be good news.

When it comes to the question of whether “no news is good news” with the Victor Oladipo knee situation and whether he will continue playing this year, there is only one true answer. Based on all that is out there, Jackson’s reporting specifically, the answer has to be “yes”.

If you haven’t heard anything yet, that means that there is still hope. With him seeking extra opinions, that is typically in an attempt to validate or clarify if continuing to play on it puts him at risk for any further damage, minor or completely structural.

With the way that these situations have gone in the recent past, such as Kawhi Leonard and his reported distrust with the San Antonio, you have to understand the caution and approach from both the Miami Heat and Oladipo. Not that Oladipo should fear that the Heat will put him in any extra harm or anything, as much as that he should want to be certain for himself and that the Miami Heat should be more than willing to make sure that he is comfortable.

Also, with the fact that they might try to re-sign him later, it wouldn’t be the worst thing to be absolutely certain on the status of that knee, while making sure he knows that you have his best interest at heart. So, again and at this point, not hearing anything is good.

If you heard something too fast, that would mean they know he isn’t going to be able to play without potentially re-injury or worst. Those calls would seem like the quickest ones.

Time and patience means they are exhausting their resources and expertise to absolutely be sure that he won’t re-injure, most likely. At least, that’s what you hope.

It’s an often used saying around here, but patience is truly a virtue. Hopefully, the payoff is worth it and is one where he plays again for the Heat this year.
