The Miami Heat were defeated on Wednesday night by the Denver Nuggets, to make that their second consecutive defeat in a row. In the third game of a four-game road trip out west, the Miami Heat have now dropped 2 of the three.

While they kept the Portland Trail Blazers from initiating their own offense in the first game on Sunday, it was the Phoenix Suns who kept the Miami Heat’s bench unit at bay on Tuesday night, eventually leading to a Suns win.

While it wasn’t the bench unit of the Heat on Wednesday, exclusively or as much as it was the entirety of the team, they had trouble putting the ball in the hoop again. In the second period of play, the Heat were held to just 18 points.

The Miami Heat didn’t have the offense again, for the second night in a row.

With five minutes to go in the third period, The Miami Heat had already scored 17 points or so, for reference on how poor a 17 point full quarter is. Not to mention, that while the Heat were busy only scoring 17 points in the second period, the Nuggets scored 34 of their own.

Though they won by 17 total, the 16 points spotted to them in that quarter made all the difference. While the Miami Heat, as a whole, struggled to create offense, there was one guy that was, at least, looking for his own offense.

Criticized in the area often and especially after Tuesday night’s showing, where he only had two shot attempts at half and six for the game, Bam Adebayo came out aggressive in Wednesday’s contest. He would finish with 16 shot attempts.

Though it didn’t help lead the Miami Heat to a victory, you love the fact that he responded with an offensively aggressive effort and you hope that he continues to show that level of improvement there. The Heat still have a game left on their road trip.

Though against a poor Minnesota Timberwolves team, they are a team that can beat you if you aren’t focused. Hopefully, the Miami Heat won’t let their guard down there.

Either way, they’ll need to be more offensively consistent moving forward. If not, the games will end up very similarly to the the last two.
