The Miami Heat’s leader, Jimmy Butler, is full of surprises.

The exchange started at around the 29 minute mark of the program. These quotes come from Winderman’s article, as he had already transcribed and to precisely give credit where it’s due.

"“He’s one of my absolute best friends,” Butler said. “He’s the godfather of my daughter. And it’s just like as competitive as it is, we’re always laughing, we’re always joking around. “I would say something else, but then the NBA is going to look at this and be like, ‘Oh my god, he’s tampering.’ “"

Winderman then went on to discuss the Miami Heat and Kyle Lowry situation from this past trade deadline. It’s the one that almost saw Lowry come to Miami before the asking price got too high.

The rest of the quotes from Butler’s appearance are interesting too though. They picked back up a little later here.

"After Butler’s godfather revelation, Czarniak interjected of Lowry, “Maybe he needs some sunshine, maybe he needs some Miami sunshine.” That led the typically loquacious Butler to interject, “You said that, I didn’t say that.” That’s when Brown, a favorite from Butler’s preferred music genre, chimed in with, “Kyle Lowry, go to Miami bro.”"

Very interesting. indeed. What does this all say about Jimmy Butler?

What does it all say about Kyle Lowry? What’s it say about their relationship.

It’s all just very interesting to think about and especially with all that has happened in the past season or so. Why is it so interesting though?
