Miami Heat Full Timers Were 2020 Part-Timers: Dewayne Dedmon

While Dedmon finished his season with a second stint in Atlanta, though only for 10 games prior to the season’s suspension, he started the year by playing in 34 games for Sacramento. Interestingly enough, had he stayed with the Kings, he would have, at least, seen the inside of the Bubble, though they were eliminated in the final stretch of “regular season” seeding games.

Hot. According to Dr.J… LeBron James isn’t a Top-10 guy. light

Again though, since they have arrived in Miami, they have been two of the better Heat players. Through just nine games with the team and across only 13.3 minutes played per contest thus far, Dedmon is averaging 7.7 points and 5.7 boards, but shoots an insane 71.1 percent from the field on his four attempts.

Look, the numbers don’t look like a lot, but it’s the what, when, where, and how of it all when it comes to his production. For as small as it seems, it’s had a major impact on the Heat.

Though he isn’t a massive shot blocker at just over a half shot blocked per game since he’s arrived, when you are his size and can block a shot if it comes your way, he serves as rim protection as well. Also, as has been mentioned by him and Coach Erik Spoelstra, he allows Bam Adebayo to take a break without the team taking a nosedive and that’s mega for them.
