The Miami Heat have finished the 2020-21 NBA regular season. Going out with a bang, sort of, they played their last contest without most of their current regular starting crew in tow.

Starting the game for the Miami Heat on Sunday were Tyler Herro, Precious Achiuwa, Nemanja Bjelica, Gabe Vincent, and the only regular, Duncan Robinson. In fact and ironically enough, Robinson would be the low-point man on Sunday, finishing the contest with just eight points on 3-5 from the field and 2-4 from three.

They were led on the day by Precious Achiuwa and Nemanja Bjelica, finishing with 23 and 21 points, respectively. Bjelica was the guy that set the tone, scoring 17 of his 21 points in the first half of the game.

The Miami Heat played their final contest of the year without their regular guys in tow.

While this game was a meaningless one in the grand scheme of things and as far as things go from here, with the fact that the NBA Playoff seedings were already, pretty much, set and official at this point, this was a good game to get some other guys some good meaningful run before the playoffs started.

With guys like Max Strus getting to get up some shots, KZ Okpala getting a chance to get some quality minutes, and Bjelica getting a chance to flex his offensive muscles, these moments may come in handy during a key moment at some point in the future. If they have to deploy a shooting lineup or need to have guys to hit a big shot late in a game, the fact that these guys have gotten some up during live game action recently can only help.

It was good to see and especially without the regular guys there, good to see them get a win to close the season. The postseason is here, though the NBA play-in games will take place first.

It should be fun. The Heat are dangerous enough to make another run.
