The Miami Heat need to get better now. With a timeline that centers around Jimmy Butler, they are in a position where they need to make moves for the current roster, as opposed to for the future of the franchise.

That’s what adds to the excitement of this offseason though. In quite a few offseason, this is setting up to be one of the most electric in a while.

While there are always situations and especially for the Miami Heat, where they need to add something to their team, this year is different. In many situations, the guys or talent isn’t always out there, however, this year it is.

With that in mind, they should now be in recruitment mode and while they can only do so much, for tampering purposes, there is something that can be done. Those chances looked gloomy though, with the announcement that Jimmy Butler wouldn’t be playing ball this summer for his country.

The Miami Heat should be in full recruitment mode, at the moment, and Bam Adebayo’s Olympic bid provides just the opportunity.

With the announcement that Bam Adebayo will be joining Team USA for the Olympics though, the Miami Heat have another way of, perhaps, getting to some of the guys that they might have a chance to land. When you look at the roster of Team USA, the roster is full of guys that have been linked to the Heat already.

The entirety of the roster, though, includes: Damian Lillard of the Trail Blazers, Jrue Holiday of the Milwaukee Bucks, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns, James Harden of Brooklyn Nets, Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Khris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks, Kevin Love of the Cavaliers, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets, and our very own, Bam Adebayo.

While there are a ton of names available to choose from on this list, as stated, there are a few that have already been linked to Miami. When you see names like Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard, the theories should begin to fly about what can be cultivated betwixt either of those guys and Bam Adebayo over summer.

Hopefully, maybe even enough to coax one of them to South Florida. Also, there are guys on the list such as Kevin Love, who although haven’t been linked to Miami, might be a good fit.

Who knows what will happen? No one, that’s who.

However, with a golden opportunity such as this one, the Miami Heat wouldn’t be doing all they could if they didn’t, at least, mention “recruiting” to Bam Adebayo as he heads to Tokyo.
