Within the past year, Miami Heat shooting guard, Tyler Herro, has numerously heard his name as being moved or being sought-out often as a possible trading asset. It’s been known since last winter, when the Heat were in discussions to acquire superstar, James Harden, in a potential deal that would send the Heat’s second-year lottery pick to the Houston Rockets.

While those talks eventually ended up caving, Herro would remain in a Heat uniform beyond the March trade deadline and for the rest of the 2020-21 season. As the third leading scorer (15.1 points per game) on a sixth-seeded team that was bruised, banged-up, and inconsistent throughout the year, Tyler should be considered as a bright-spot for what was a trying season for the Heat.

In his second postseason appearance, Herro struggled during the Heat’s four-game elimination, averaging just 9.3 points on 31 percent shooting. Heavy criticism and slander for the 20 year-old guard was sparked after being unable to build off of a successful postseason performance from the season prior in the Miami Heat’s run to the NBA Finals.

Tyler’s career, from the very onset and, unfairly, at the biggest stages, has drawn comparisons to a star who currently plays in another conference but is on the cusp of a potential NBA Finals run himself — Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.
