In 2021, the Miami Heat had a improved year from sophomore guard and former Rookie of The Year candidate, Kendrick Nunn. While his scoring and playmaking numbers were slightly down, a more efficient season for Nunn was evident, despite missing several games due to a calf injury.
Nunn finished the 2020-21 season with averages of 14.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, on 48 percent shooting from the field, while making 122 of his 320 attempts (38 percent) from beyond the arc.
However, Nunn started just 44 of 56 games that he played in after starting 67 games in his rookie year — seeing himself losing out of the early-season rotation to Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic.
After missing eight out of 21 games early in the season, the 25 year-old guard began to receive consistent run and helped Miami to a six-game winning streak. For some reason, opposing teams continued to leave Nunn off of scouting reports, which was a great thing.
Struggling at times, as the everyone on the Miami Heat did this past season and as a collective overall, he had a pretty good offensive year. Let’s look at that.
