The Miami Heat need a guy like Damian Lillard, in the worst way, so the fit would be that of the hand in glove variety.

The Miami Heat were a shell of themselves, at times, over this past season. Though the three point shot and a ton of them, saved them in the season before this one that just finished or the bubble season, those same shots didn’t fall with the same type of regularity in this past season.

It was for that reason that their offensive lulls were magnified. When it was bad for the Miami Heat, it was bad.

There were times this past season where they, simply, could not buy a bucket. Again, this isn’t the first season that this has been an issue but typically, there is an x-factor, such as the deep shooting from last season.

With that, the Miami Heat need a guy who can flat-out score. That guy also needs to be a dependable guy when it comes to creating looks for himself out of thin air.

With the Miami Heat, seemingly, knee-deep in the Victor Oladipo experiment as well, they need to bring in another surefire lead ball handler. Damian Lillard fits that bill too, of course.

Do we even need to talk about the shooting? It’s well known of what time it is when it comes to that part, the guy is, routinely, good from 30.

To get the nitty gritty and in this past season, the guy averaged 28.8 points, 7.5 dimes, 4.2 rebounds on 45 percent shooting from the floor and nearly 40 percent from deep on nearly 11 attempts.

You want to be sticklers? Those exact figures were 39.1 percent on 10.5 attempts.

That’s “40” and “11” when you get that high. He fits the Miami Heat.

Heck, with game like that, he fits wherever he wants. For the Miami Heat, having enough to land him will be the hangup if given the actual opportunity.

There is a beacon of hope though. If Lillard ever comes out, in any shape, form, or fashion, and requests the Miami Heat, then they have all the leverage and Portland will likely, acquiesce.

The offseason isn’t even really going yet and it’s already exciting. Let’s see what else it can bring, hopefully, such as Dame Time to South Beach.
