Miami Heat get a sharpshooter and a big man prospect, Sacramento Kings get rid of unhappy players

This deal sees the Miami Heat get more shooting and a young frontcourt player to pair next to Bam Adebayo. Meanwhile, the Kings shake up their roster a bit.

Both Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III have had their issues in Sacramento. Whether it be this past season or in prior years, neither seems to want to be there anymore.

Bagley liked a tweet referencing “getting him out of” the city. Meanwhile, there have been constant reports of Hield being frustrated with his role.

In Miami, Hield would be one of the top scoring options. His elite three-point shooting would pair perfectly next to Duncan Robinson in Erik Spoeltra’s offense.

The sharpshooter averaged 16.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists last season while shooting 39.1% from three-point range.

As for Bagley, he could be a decent option to pair next to Adebayo. Though he hasn’t been consistent from deep, he has the potential to be a solid stretch four.

In addition, he can play some spot minutes at the center position. He was the second pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, so he could certainly still pan out into a quality player.

This trade allows the Kings to reset their roster a bit and still make a push for the playoffs. Herro would replace Hield in their rotation, while also providing more long-term potential.

This also helps free up cap space after next season. Both Goran Dragic and Andre Iguodala would be off the books, allowing them to spend some money.

The Miami Heat would have a better roster to compete right now, while the Kings open up their options for the future.
