The Miami Heat have a ton of things to take care of this offseason. While taking care of their own, such as getting Duncan Robinson re-signed to a deal, is essential and a must-have, they are also in the process of figuring out who and how to bring in more help for the current roster.

Even among all of that though, there are other scenarios that seem as if they are going to need a fix… or at least, some sort of addressing. That’s where Tyler Herro comes into play.

Depending on who you ask, he’s all but should have had his bags packed since the NBA’s Trade Deadline, where some will have you believe that the Heat shopped him to everyone. That scenario has taken on new life and to an even greater level this offseason.

Everywhere you look, there’s prediction and theories on what, who, and how much they can get for Herro. There is also a bit of truth to some of it though.

The Miami Heat have to figure out what they are going to do with Tyler Herro. For him though, it’s not even a question of where he wants to be.

If the Miami Heat were to be able to figure on a guy they liked and had to make a trade to land him, Tyler Herro is, likely, the Miami Heat’s most valuable asset at the moment. At worst, he’s who he is now, a version of what Lou Williams is to a team.

At best, he continues upon the trajectory he’s set himself upon, that’s towards NBA Superstardom. Either way and with all that though, there is something interesting about it all.

Has anyone ever cared or taken the time to ask him how he feels about it all? Probably not and though it doesn’t matter a whole heck of a lot, in the grand scheme of things, it’s worth noting.

For him, he doesn’t want to leave Miami. That’s, at least, the notion you get when you hear him speak on his situation.

Here is a excerpt from a piece by Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel that sums up the notion. On his time with the U.S. Select team and being coached by his current head coach, he not only noted that this is an opportunity to further build on their relationship but also that when it comes to him and his NBA future, “I plan on playing with him for a while, and that’s my plan. I hope that happens.”

So, if there was any doubt about where Herro wanted to be, even among all the noise and chatter, it has the be clear now. Whether that actually happens or not… remains to be seen.
