The Miami Heat are in a weird spot financially. They could be set up to have a bunch of cap space, but also need to re-sign key players.

Both Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn will be restricted free agents this offseason. While some fans believe the Heat should let Nunn walk, Robinson is a crucial part of Miami’s offensive scheme.

If the Heat give Robinson a new contract, they’ll have a lot less cap space to work with. This means they won’t have nearly as much wiggle room to fill out their roster.

Dreams of Kawhi Leonard might be just that – dreams. Realistically, free agency might not be as fun as most Miami Heat fans expect it to be.

What are some realistic trade options the Miami Heat can, and should, look into this offseason?

This means that Pat Riley would have to find other ways to improve. The easiest way to do so could be through some smaller trades.

Not every trade has to be a blockbuster. Sometimes the best deals end up being for role players that help improve rotational depth.

This has been the Heat’s calling card in recent years. Their depth was one of the main reasons they were able to reach the Finals in 2020.

As players such as Goran Dragic, Andre Iguodala, and Trevor Ariza get older, a new wave of rotation players should be brought in. The Heat don’t have a ton of trade assets, but Riley has been able to work some magic before.

With that in mind, who should the Miami Heat target in trades this offseason? Which role players could be available for cheap?
