Miami Heat get a scoring punch off the bench

If the Miami Heat want scoring, there aren’t many better options than “The Human Torch.” Terrence Ross has built his entire persona off of being able to score the ball at will.

Ross has come off the bench for the past three years with the Orlando Magic. In all three seasons, he’s averaged around 15 points per game.

Last year, he averaged 15.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He shot 41.2% from the field and 33.7% from deep.

While it may not have been his most efficient season, that’s never been his strong suit. That being said, he has shown the ability to shoot around 38% from deep in the past.

The best part about this trade is that the Heat would get Ross for next to nothing. Iguodala is on an expiring deal, and the picks are the last two second-rounders that the Heat have control over for a while.

The Magic committed to a full rebuild last season. The fact that Ross didn’t get dealt at the trade deadline came as a surprise to many.

He could very likely get traded this offseason, and the Miami Heat should certainly inquire about a deal like that. This would help them improve their depth, without giving up too many assets.
