The Miami Heat are going to into the off-season with a lot of rumors starting that are surrounding the team. Some of those rumors stand the chance of making a Miami Heat return to a being power house in the Eastern Conference a reality.

One rumor has caught this Heat fan’s attention and that’s a trade that could actually turn the Heat into a real threat. Dare it be said, it could actually help… lead the Miami Heat back to a championship.

The rumors are surrounding a power forward from the Cleveland Cavaliers. That would be Kevin Love.

Kevin Love, a 13 year veteran of the NBA, has played for both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was a huge piece of the championship run that helped LeBron James and Kyrie Irving bring a title to Cleveland Cavs back in 2016.

The Miami Heat need a guy like Kevin Love. He might just be available too, which seems almost too perfect of a scenario for Pat Riley and Co.

Kevin has also been selected to numerous Team USA Basketball teams, has won the NBA Most Improved Player award back in 2011, was the Three Point Shooting champion in 2012, and was the Pac-12 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. Love can make an impact on any team’s rebounding, three-point shooting, and even… shot-blocking.

So, how would Kevin Love fit in with the Miami Heat? Well, his inside-the-paint offense will open the door for Bam Adebayo to attack the paint more.

He can also open up the three-point line for players like Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, and Goran Dragic. Love is also seen as a floor general, meaning he can see the floor to find the open players, hit guys on the fast break, and get his guys in position to make the best play possible.

If he finds the opportunity to drive or fire the quick three, he will pull the trigger at will, as well, something that the Miami Heat could desperately use. That’s a guy that can, flat-out, score the ball when he’s right.

What do the Miami Heat have to do to grab a potential still-star player like Kevin Love? Chances are that the Heat would have to trade two players to Cleveland, along with a two future draft picks to grab him but it may come at the expense of Precious Achiuwa and Duncan Robinson in a possible package.

Would the Heat take that chance to grab a player like Love? At this point, they are still just rumors.

For now, we will have to watch, both, Kevin Love and Bam Adebayo play on the same team in Tokyo for Team USA. Will we see a connection between these two during the 2020 Olympic games and that should be enticing enough to entice the Miami Heat decision-makers.

Well, hopefully.
