Reasons For Miami Heat Interest In Kelly Oubre: Versatility & Price Point

The Miami Heat need someone to play beside Bam Adebayo. While Dewayne Dedmon has the skillset, size, hustle, energy, and should be brought back by the Heat, they may want to size down there too but stay, sort of, big.

Can Play Beside Anybody… But Especially Bam

With Oubre’s 6’7″ size and 7’3″ wingspan, he offers the size and versatility to line up in a myriad of spots and alongside a greater myriad of players. He can play beside anyone, basically.

That versatility in the Miami Heat lineup is the third reason they should jump on him. He answers so many questions while also, potentially, unlocking quite a bit as well.

Cost Might Not Be That High

Kelly Oubre is coming off of a down year in Golden State. That’s the only way to look at it.

With his eyes set on the largest deal possible, as he should be and as most professional athletes are, he might want the chance to re-raise his value. What better situation to try and do that in than with the Miami Heat?

While he’ll still get a really good deal and have multiple suitors trying to give him that money, it, likely, won’t be as much as it could have been, once upon a time. That’s the fourth reason why the Miami Heat should be beating down his door as soon as they can.

Whatever it costs to sign him, it won’t be what he’s actually worth when he’s clicking on a high level and right. The Miami Heat can bring the best back out of him, so whatever they’d be getting him for would be cheap, relatively, is the point.

The Miami Heat have moves to make and holes to fill, but this could be a massive peg in the board.   These are the four reasons why they need to make it happen and as soon as they can.
