Miami Heat Ideal Offseason Manifesto: Bigs

The Miami Heat brought in a quality big, mid-way through last season. They need to learn from that, meaning, they need one on the roster from the top this season.

5. Centers

Maxi Kleber

In order to make Maxi Kleber a member of the Miami Heat, a trade would have to be made. I think something like a sign and trade for Kendrick Nunn and a second-round pick or two could do the trick.

Once he is here, he would be the perfect center to pair with Bam Adebayo in the front court. Kleber is coming off of a season where he shot the three ball with 41 percent efficiency on about four attempts.

A center that can shoot that well would be a glove-like fit next to Adebayo. I think he could unlock Bam even more as well, adding spacing to the floor for players like Butler and Oladipo to explode into the lane.

Bam took the biggest leap of his career playing the four next to Meyers Leonard, who could also shoot the ball. Kleber is definitely a better player than Leonard and his height should also help the Heat pick up the slack on the boards.

Dewayne Dedmon

Dewayne Dedmon was brought in by the Miami Heat to help with rebounding and he did exactly that last season. Re-signing him on a cheap deal would be beneficial for both parties and would make sure that the Heat’s pesky rebounding issues don’t resurface.

Dedmon does not shoot the ball a lot but he does shoot it with very high efficiency. It seems like Dedmon is a player who is very aware of what his role is and what type of player he is.

He would be on the floor to pick up rebounds, as well as providing the occasional scoring punch from inside the paint. His defensive presence in the paint would also be an important contribution for the second unit.
