The Miami Heat had a mediocre year this past season or… it was just mid, so everyone understands exactly what it is. With that though, they did have a few guys that hit their marks.

Furthermore, not only did they hit their marks, but it was these same set of guys who actually outperformed what was expected of them. With that, here are the three Miami Heat guys that exceed expectations for them this past season.

Trevor Ariza

Trevor Ariza was brought in with a purpose. Needing to fill that Jae Crowder role that had been left void since he went to Phoenix last offseason, the Miami Heat came into the season without a real plan there, it seems.

Well, after a few months away from the game for Ariza and a few loose words for Meyers Leonard, it was all set into motion. For what was essentially his contract, Leonard’s, the Heat were able to secure the services of Ariza.

Not knowing what to expect, he was a great surprise. In 30 games with Miami this past season and 27 starts, Ariza finished with averages of 9.4 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, a steal, and over half a block.

In, again, not knowing what to expect after he hadn’t played this season, he came in and provided shooting, a bit of an all-around floor game, and of course, his patented defense. That’s how he exceeded expectations.
