The Miami Heat are in a tough spot this offseason. They should have a decent amount of cap space to work with, but also have a lot of players they need to re-sign.
First and foremost, Duncan Robinson will be a restricted free agent. Due to his incredible shooting, he should receive some big-time offers this summer.
Kendrick Nunn will also enter restricted free agency this offseason. He’s expected to get offers of around $15 million per year.
Newly acquired guard Victor Oladipo is an unrestricted free agent. After only playing four games with the Miami Heat, he’s reportedly looking for a max contract.
Six other Miami Heat players are going to be free agents this summer – Dewayne Dedmon, Trevor Ariza, Nemanja Bjelica, Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and Udonis Haslem.
While certain free agents certainly take priority from the standpoint of the Miami Heat, there are plenty of other factors that go into whether or not they return to the team.
For those that are unrestricted, they could choose a new opportunity elsewhere over a return to Miami. Money makes the world go round, and it certainly talks in the NBA.
Outside of that, team fit is crucial. Robinson stated earlier this offseason that it would be one of the biggest things he looks for in free agency.
Past that, some younger players could choose to switch teams in hopes of having a larger role. This idea applies to Nunn and Vincent more than anyone else.
With all this in mind, which free agents could be on the move? Here are all nine of them ranked from least likely to most likely to return.
