The Miami Heat could stand to add another big guy, but is Blake Griffin the one?

Although Brooklyn couldn’t fulfill their hopes of winning it all this season, Griffin showed that, not only, can he play a pivotal role on a title contender but he took advantage of some extended center minutes, despite a thinning front-court rotation. Blake can still physically compete at the highest level, just as he’s done for most of his career.

While he wasn’t extremely effective in the Nets’ first-round series against the Boston Celtics, Griffin seemed to have emerged on both ends against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. With other Nets stars, Kyrie Irving and James Harden, both dealing with injuries, Blake would practically become a secondary-option to Kevin Durant and he didn’t disappoint.

With 40 minutes played in Game 7, Griffin finished with 17 points and nine rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting. He also logged over 30 minutes in four of the Nets’ seven games against Milwaukee.
