The Miami Heat have announced the dates for each of their preseason home games for the 2021-22 season. According to their official website, they will play three games at home at the beginning of October.
The games will be on October 4th, 11th, and 15th. They will play the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, and Boston Celtics, respectively, on those dates.
The start time for each game varies, but are as follows. The games vs. the Hawks and Hornets will start at 7:30 p.m., while the game vs the Celtics is set to tip-off at 8 p.m.
There should be a lot of roster changes from now until then, so fans could get to see a whole new Miami Heat team for the first time on those dates. The preseason is also a great time for young players to prove themselves.
As great as it may be to see stars for cheaper ticket prices, coaches and teams use the preseason to make their final roster decisions. For example, this will act as more time to try out some undrafted free agents.
Pat Riley recently stated that he anticipates the team will sign multiple players from this year’s draft class. Seeing as the team has no picks, this means they will spend the Summer League and preseason taking a look at some undrafted players.
Depending on how well the prospects do during the preseason, they could end up making the regular-season roster. The Miami Heat need to fill roster spots, so it’s a great opportunity for young players to earn a spot.
From a fan’s perspective, the preseason is always a fun, cheaper way to watch their favorite team live. It’s a similar atmosphere to the regular season, but usually for a fraction of the price.
Tickets are already on sale and can be found at either HEAT.com or Ticketmaster.com. As of now, the cheapest tickets are selling for around $10.
The rest of the preseason schedule will be released at a later date that, as of now, is unknown. Regardless, there are less than 80 days left until Miami Heat basketball is back!
