Miami Heat: 3 Ways To Further Unlock Max Strus- DHOs & Multipeness

The Miami Heat have run a ton of the dribble handoff action over the past season or so and though defenses are starting to be able to run the action for them, practically, it can still be very effective in doses.

DHO Max

They should look to get Strus involved in more of that action. It has worked so well for Duncan Robinson, mainly due to his already elite ability to knock down the shot, that you have to imagine that it’s, at least, worth a shot with Strus.

There is something else to it all too though, for which this is an example. However, that is the majority of the third way to unlock his potential.

Tap Into His Multiplness

The Miami Heat love versatility or multipleness. Strus has a ton of that.

Not only is he a deadeye shooter, but he has the ability to put the ball on the floor. On top of that, he’s not just a guy that can put it on the floor for the sake of doing so but when he does so, he does so with purpose.

Strus has the type of athletic ability to get all the way to the rim and finish over the top of the defense… on their heads even, if necessary. That’s the thing from the previous dribble handoff point.

Where Duncan Robinson isn’t quite the driver or finisher that Strus is, Strus can be more versatile off of the action, thus creating more havoc. The variation could not only create some great things for Strus, but it could create variation that could be great for the rest of the team’s opportunities to productive.

It’s all a very conducive situation if you think about it. Strus has the ability to be a major contributor, at a minimum cost.

With the Miami Heat’s situation financially and their aspirations from a player acquisition perspective, they’d be smart to hang on to all of those kinds of guys as possible. Here are three ways they can maximize this one, again, providing they are smart enough to hold on to him.
