The Miami Heat are sure to be an active bunch this offseason, but what does that mean? Well, there is some noise out there on one front.

Recent reports state that Chris Paul might opt-out of the final huge year on his current deal in search of longer security and years, meaning one has to think that the Miami Heat might look to bring him into the fold to help them compete for a title next season. Chris Paul is coming off a trip to the NBA finals and showed throughout the regular season and the post-season that, despite his age, he is still a top 5 point guard in the league.

With the Miami Heat desperately needing a true floor general, would Chris Paul be a good fit on this current Miami Heat team? The short answer is yes.

Looking at stats alone for 2020-21, Chris Paul averaged 16.4 points and 8.9 assists per game. He did all of that while shooting a hair under the revered 50/40/90 on the season.

Paul is still a top point guard and a floor general like him is exactly what Miami needs. If he declines his player option in Phoenix, then there should be no reason why the Heat don’t show interest.
