Miami Heat draft night trade #1: Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are looking to make moves that would help them compete right now. This deal does that, as it sees them add a quality veteran point guard to their roster.

Dennis Schroder is going to ask for a ton of money in free agency. By trading for Dragic, the Lakers can let him walk without worrying about their point guard depth.

Dragic can come off the bench or be inserted into the starting lineup for LA. His shooting and shot creation will be a huge help in taking the load off of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

He only has one year left on his deal, so the Lakers would maintain some cap flexibility for next offseason, too. They will also likely stay active in the free-agent market.

As for Montrezl Harrell, they barely played him in the playoffs last season. The Lakers gave him little to no playing time in the postseason, and would probably be more than willing to trade him.

The Miami Heat would fill their hole at the backup center position with this trade. It would also help improve their game on the offensive end of the floor.

The 22nd pick is nothing to gloss over, either. This would give the Heat a chance to add a potential rotation player late in the first round.

Players such as Chris Duarte, Cam Thomas, and Quentin Grimes could all be available in this range. Any one of those players would be able to be an offensive powerhouse off the bench for Miami.
