Are the Miami Heat about to bring in Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans?

As far as what’s being said, there are several reports out there. The most prominent, from the Miami Heat’s side of things, comes from Five Reasons Sports Network.

Specifically, their Adam Borai had the report of interest. Here is one quote from Borai that really summarized the whole thing up though.

"I can report that Brandon Ingram would be very pleased with a potential trade to Miami. Pelicans’ executive David Griffin will most likely be playing hardball if these talks were to progress. There have been plenty of links surrounding New Orleans and Miami lately, including Lonzo Ball possibly being on the market, Pelicans’ well known interest in Duncan Robinson, and now this."

Borai’s report continued to express how the Heat would feel on their end. Specifically, what the addition could mean for them.

"From the Heat’s perspective, they would be filling the number one hole on the roster that seems to be the toughest to fill. Three-level scorers that are also second overall picks aren’t an easy thing to come by, especially ones that are available."

He makes an excellent point. Regardless of where they were selected, finding a three-level scorer, with his size, profile, and unique set of abilities is rare and at his age, could be a cornerstone move for seasons to come.

Needless to say and to go right along with what one would think Borai’s feelings are on the matter, this would practically be a no-brainer for Miami. Or would it?
