If New Orleans does want to deal Ingram, anything short of Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler can go for B.I., right?

If the Miami Heat were to have to give up Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson to land a player like Brandon Ingram, with control over his contract for the next four years, they should do it every time. Ingram is the type of player that can catapult this team back into contention.

Though you lose something in the auxiliary attack with the movement of Robinson and Herro, you gain so much more in the form of a star guy in Ingram. Capable of scoring from anywhere on the court, you also like that Ingram contributes across the board in most areas to help his team.

While he isn’t a point guard, which still leaves the Heat seeking to be able to do something at the point guard spot, he did average about five assists per game last season and is more than capable of making plays for his team.

He isn’t a bad defender either, plus with his physical profile and the right teaching, he can become better and maybe even elite in the area. It’s really a no-brainer move if it were to become available to the Miami Heat.

If they have to move a guy that’s been apart of the core for the last few seasons, that’s just what they have to do. Now, here’s the kicker.

They shouldn’t overpay out of desperation and it has to be believed that the Miami Heat are better than doing that. That’ll be the only thing to watch out for, even with their lack of assets.

If the Miami Heat can land Brandon Ingram though, they absolutely should. And if they were, the Heat automatically become a top-three team in the East and a top-six team in the league.
