On Tuesday, reports surfaced via Adrian Wojnarowski that Milwaukee Bucks three-point marksman, Bryn Forbes, will decline his 2.4 million player option for the 2021-22 season, and will become an Unrestricted Free Agent this summer.

Forbes, one of the NBA’s premier shooters, as well as a familiar name around the Miami Heat fanbase, is hitting the market after a single year with the Bucks, one which ultimately resulted in an NBA title.

For much of the Bucks’ first-round series, Forbes was unconscious from beyond the arc, as the former San Antonio Spurs guard throttled several Milwaukee runs against Miami.

While he only scored five points in 14 minutes played in Game One, Forbes went for a season-high 22 points, including five of six three-pointers in the first half alone of the next game. With the effort, the Bucks would defeat Miami in Game Two by 34 points, en route to a four-game sweep in Milwaukee’s favor.

After a breakout performance in the first round, and most notably outscoring Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler in a 60-58 ratio in total points, opposing defenses quickly adjusted to Forbes. He struggled to be effective on either end moving forward.

As Milwaukee continued to advance, Forbes would lose minutes in favor of Pat Connaughton, who carried a more physical profile at their respective position. Of the remaining 19 postseason games, Forbes reached double-figures in just two outings and didn’t see the floor at all in the final three games against the Phoenix Suns.
