Depending on who they acquire, it’ll be difficult to replace the chemistry, as well as the elite shooting provision that Robinson has provided for the Miami Heat organization, which has resulted in consecutive postseason bouts in the last two years.

Forbes, who is a year older than Duncan, makes for a significantly cheaper option for which Miami could perhaps use a portion of their $9 million mid-level exception to sign. This is only possible if they choose to operate over the cap.

While there aren’t as many elite, nor realistic options, in the 2021 free agency class, building a team with quality assets begins here. The addition of Forbes only adds to a possible reassurance plan of further competing. It’s inevitable that coach Erik Spoelstra will remain astute in sustaining a floor-spacing method, with the usual penetrative attack in between.

RSHK gestures aside, Forbes has shown the ability to be a quality rotational piece on a winning team and has done so for multiple franchises.

He would be a significantly cheap find that keeps Miami in the right direction shooting-wise if they just so happen to decide not to re-sign Robinson. And for what it’s worth, they were pretty good rivals in the state of Michigan, anyway.
