Miami Heat: 3 Summer League rookies that could make the NBA roster

Miami Heat Summer League rookies that could make the team: Micah Potter
Micah Potter is a 6-10 forward who played two seasons at Ohio State and two seasons at Wisconsin. He is a stretch big who would provide some much-needed shooting to the Miami Heat’s rotation.
His three-point shot is how he is going to make his money. In a league that values shooting, Potter could become a highly sought-after stretch four.
In his last year with the Badgers, Potter averaged 12.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He shot 50.4% from the field and 38.6% from three-point range.
This sort of efficient shooting from deep is exactly what the Miami Heat need in their frontcourt. Potter could eventually grow into a Kelly Olynyk sort of player and help space the floor for the Heat.
Defensively, Potter isn’t awful. He’s an okay post defender but struggles when forced to switch out on the perimeter, as most big men do.
He’s also a below-average rebounder and not a very good athlete. He could be slow getting back in transition, but the Miami Heat can hide this with their super talented defensive core.
Potter is one of the more likely players to make the regular-season roster simply due to his ability to stretch the floor. The Miami Heat need that skill from a big man, and Potter could be the player to give it to them.
