Pros of the Miami Heat signing Kyle Lowry

As mentioned, Kyle Lowry is an All-Star caliber player. Before last season he had made six All-Star games in a row.

That sort of production is exactly what the Miami Heat wanted to add next to Butler and Adebayo. He has the exact skillset they should want in a point guard.

First and foremost, Lowry is a great defender. He’s a super gritty player and plays with the intensity that Miami Heat fans have come to expect from their team.

The Heat were already a great defensive team, though. Where Lowry will be able to help them the most is on the offensive end of the floor.

His playmaking will open up a ton of opportunities on the offensive end for Miami. Last year it was up to Butler to take on the role of the playmaker, but now he has some backup.

The best part about the deal, however, is that Lowry is a shooter. The Miami Heat have some more shooting on the roster other than Duncan Robinson.

Re-signing Robinson to an extension was an amazing move, but having someone else on the roster who can shoot is great. Last year it seemed as though those duties fell on Robinson alone.

On paper, Lowry’s playstyle fits the Miami Heat like a glove. He just has to go out there and help them win some basketball games in order to prove it.
