Miami Heat replacements for Kendrick Nunn: Javonte Smart/Marcus Garrett

Either of these players would be a phenomenal addition to the Miami Heat. Both are currently playing with the Summer League roster right now.

Starting with Smart, he struggled to shoot efficiently in his first Summer League game last night but has all the tools of a solid guard. He’s a scrappy defender and always leaves it all on the court.

In his final year at LSU, he shot above 40% from three on over six attempts per game. He’s also a very aggressive scorer when driving to the paint, so that always helps, too.

Despite the inefficient performance, Smart still dropped ten points, four rebounds, and four assists. At only 22 years old, Smart would be a solid young option for Miami’s bench.

Miami Heat fans already love Marcus Garrett. He had a great performance in the Heat’s first Summer League game.

In 22 minutes of playing time, Garrett put up ten points, three rebounds, and two assists. The highlight of his evening, though, was the fact that he totaled a whopping six steals.

Garrett has been known for his defense ever since his days at Kansas. The 6-5 guard was one of the best defenders at the collegiate level.

He turns 23 years old in November, but already has the skillset to compete at the NBA level. Garrett would be a great option for the Miami Heat to have in the rotation.
