The Miami Heat have been hot on the trails of Kyle Lowry for over a year, at this point. With him finally in tow in Miami, the Heat now, not only, have him paired with one of his very best friends in the world in Jimmy Butler, but they also have him paired with one of the only other few players in the league that can be called tougher or as tough as he is.

Jimmy Butler, fresh off signing a new big money extension with Miami, spoke to all of this on Saturday. Here is a little bit of what he had to say when speaking to the media when it comes to his newest teammate.

The Miami Heat are known for playing and being a certain type of way. Newly into the fold, Jimmy Butler says Kyle Lowry won’t have any issue fitting in.

"He’s been a very good friend of mine for years and years now. It’s not just basketball, between me and him, between myself and so many of my teammates, past and present. So it’s good to have a genuine friend that you can have the tough conversations with. I can tell him the truth… he can tell me the truth. And more than anything… he’s a Miami Heat guy too"

As if we needed to hear it from Jimmy to know, it sure does feel good. This, though, has been a known fact about Lowry for year, though only one that could be observed and admired from a distance.

A defensive dog for his entire career, he’s also been a guy that hasn’t minded doin whatever it took to help his team win. A late first round pick out of tough and scrappy Villanova, it’s no wonder he’s propelled himself to these heights, it’s practically who he is.

With Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry in tow, one thing is for certain and that’s that the Miami Heat won’t ever just quit. That’s for sure.
