Playing for the Miami Heat would give Dennis Schroder a fresh start after facing the pressures of Los Angeles

After scoring zero points in nine shots in a Game 5 loss of the first round of the playoffs this year, many teams have lost trust that he could perform at a high level for them in the playoffs.

While Schroder obviously had an off-night that game, his value is being blown out of proportion. Schroder was on the same team as LeBron James, meaning all the eyes were on them.

Teams led by James have certain expectations, and the players on the team have certain standards they need to meet. Clearly, people don’t believe Schroder met those expectations.

Without diminishing anything he has accomplished in his career, there is usually a “scapegoat” on any LeBron James-led team. Last year, it was Danny Green. This year it was Dennis Schroder.

The effect of playing with James is that the team is always in the spotlight. When they are unable to deliver when the team needs them most, it makes a player look worse than they actually are.

Schroder believes he is worthy of being a starting point guard on an NBA team, but right now, many teams evidently do not agree.
