Potential two-way targets for the Miami Heat: Marcus Garrett

Miami Heat fans should know Marcus Garrett’s name by now. He has been absolutely killing it for Miami’s Summer League team so far.

His energy and overall style of play will make fans fall in love with him immediately. It’s almost like he’s everywhere on the floor at once.

Through two Summer League games, Garrett is averaging 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 5.0 steals per game. He is shooting 77.8% from the field and has not attempted a three-pointer yet.

Despite this lack of shooting, Garrett has shown the ability to be a capable three-point shooter. In his last season at Kansas, he shot 34.8% from deep on 2.3 attempts per game.

Garrett is a 6-5 combo guard who could provide some great depth for the Heat. With Victor Oladipo sidelined for a while, he could help shore up some of their defensive needs off the bench.

He perfectly fits the mold of players the Miami Heat love to bring on board. He’s a scrappy, defensive-minded, hustle player who leaves it all on the floor.

Hopefully, Pat Riley can see what a valuable player Garrett could turn out to be. He deserves a two-way spot at the very least, and could even make a case to earn the final NBA roster spot.
