The Miami Heat have a great problem on their hands. They have a ton of talent to choose from on their NBA Summer League Roster, but they only have a few slots to offer.

Maintaining the same roster as the one that they took to the California Classic in early August, the Miami Heat are gettin set to kick of their Las Vegas Summer League itinerary, starting Sunday evening. Based on their showing in that small sample of games though, they should be a team to watch in Sin City.

With that though and their performance in question, Omer Yurtseven was a beast and so much so, that he’s since signed a standard deal to play for the Miami Heat. That means that he won’t be on a two-way deal and not that he ever would have been, as some team would have scooped him up, it also means that the Miami Heat have two slots to offer.

That’s just it though. They really only have one.

The Miami Heat have two slots to offer, as far as two-way deals, well, one really. Marcus Garrett already should have one of those offers secured.

Though they technically still have two slots to offer, they really should only be considering one available, at this moment. Again and though a small sample size, what Marcus Garrett has shown already makes him the leader in the clubhouse, by far, for one of the two-way slots.

In fact, with what he’s shown, he should already have one locked up. With what he does and the way that he does it, the Miami Heat certainly could use that and continue to help him develop the other stuff.

He’s an all-around guy, that doesn’t mind contact, wants to defend, and has good size for what he can do. There are other guys on the radar that do some stuff well, such as Javonte Smart out of LSU, Dru Smith of Missouri, and Micah Potter of Wisconsin, but Garrett has been the head and shoulders standout.

Things should be pretty interesting in Vegas as the situation continues to play itself out. Look for Garrett, Max Strus, and The Big Yurt to keep dominating in Summer League, but hopefully some other guy emerges and sets himself apart from the pack too.
